Resources

During our meetup, PhET, Pivot, Teacher Desmos, GoFormative, and EdPuzzle were discussed as well as others with examples of how they opened up possibilities in the classroom. I have collated all of these links and posted them here. Please feel free to discuss how you use these resources or add your own resources!

  • Gizmo virtual labsinteractive math and science simulations for grades 3-12
  • PhET, interactive simulations for science and math
  • Pivot Interactives, allows teachers to use active lab learning any time with any science subject. Unlike animated simulations, students analyze real events, making their own measurements and observations
  • phyphox, physical phone experiments
  • Physics Toolbox by Vieyra Software, provides free and low-cost data analysis tools to: 1. Harness the power of mobile sensors; 2. Enhance science education; 3.Facilitate research and industrial use
  • PocketLab is a hands-on, remote-ready learning system with everything science teachers need to bring labs and lessons to life
  • VPython GLowscript Tutorials, learn to integrate some computational methods with python into your classes
  • IIHS Vehicle Research Center for crash tests and engaging demonstrations
  • Perimeter Institute, resources and programs to help educators boost scientific literacy and enable them to share the wonder and excitement of modern physics with their students
  • Quarknet, provides science teachers the means to develop their skills and bring real research experience into the high school classroom
  • S'Cool Lab, offers high school students and their teachers the chance to take part in hands-on & minds-on particle physics experiment sessions
  • NASA Space Science Education Consortium, AAPT mini workshops on integrating astronomy into physics
  • Formative, see student work in real-time, give feedback, track student progress to learning standards, and collaborate around common assessment data
  • Ed Puzzle, easily create beautiful interactive video lessons for your students you can integrate right into your LMS
