I've been in STEM education now over 20 years, specifically focused on the design and development of STEM learning experiences for teachers and students. I began my career as a sixth and eighth grade physical science educator at Robious Middle School in Chesterfield, Virginia. I'm a published author with book chapters and peer-reviewed articles focused in online teacher learning systems in STEM and have served on national advisory boards and expert grant review panels for institutions such as the National Academy of Science, NASA and NOAA Environmental Literacy. I've worked leading great teams to design and implement large scale teacher professional learning experiences and onsite student immersion experiences for NASA as an Aerospace Education Specialists for the Goddard Space Flight Center. Later across my 15+ year career at the National Science Teachers Association, I served as Associate Executive Director of Services, where I designed and provided executive management oversight for NSTA’s national teacher professional development academies, our online learning efforts at the NSTA Learning Center, and student STEM challenges working in partnership with federal agencies and institutions such as: NASA, NOAA, FDA, ExxonMobil Foundation, GE foundation, Toshiba, and the Northrop Grumman Foundation.
