Bobby Oommen is the Middle School Computer Science teacher at the Latin School of Chicago. Since his arrival at Latin 5 years ago, he has established a middle school CS curriculum at Latin, worked collaboratively to embed CS projects in various MS subjects, and led CS initiatives in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood in conjunction with Latin’s Third Space. In addition to his roles at Latin, Bobby served as a Community Ambassador for CS For All Teachers, A National Science Foundation project established to empower and resource Teachers of CS. Bobby also was part of a team assembled to help write Code.org’s Discoveries curriculum, which is used by students and teachers nationally. He continues to serve as a facilitator for Code.org. Bobby was one of five recipients of the CSTA/Infosys Foundation’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2018, which highlights excellence in computer science education. He is passionate about working with students and all stakeholders to bring #CS4ALL.
