Christine Lawlor-King manages invention education programming and professional development for Lemelson MIT. She is also the Executive Director for the Connecticut Invention Convention. Christine has over fifteen years teaching STEAM and invention education and managing invention education programming. Christine has mentored young inventors, educators, administrators, and corporate professionals, which recently earned her the STEMConnector Award Community Trailblazer. Christine understands the challenges of implementing new programs, as an educator and her district’s first districtwide STEM Coach. She enjoys helping schools implement and grow their programs. Christine left the classroom to become the Director of Education for the Connecticut Invention Convention, because she felt firsthand the impact invention education had on her own students. Christine loves bringing this program to more school, more teachers, and more kids. Her passion for introducing youth to STEM careers started when she was working in the lab as a microbiologist.
