Dan G. Dimitriu earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering from North Dakota State University in 1993; a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in International Economic Relations from the Academy of Economic Sciences, Bucharest, Romania in 1979; a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest, Bucharest, Romania in 1970; and an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Arts from the Popular School of Arts, Bucharest, Romania in 1976. Dr. Dimitriu has been practicing engineering since 1970 and taught engineering courses concurrently for more than 25 years at various institutions. In 2001, he joined San Antonio College full-time as the Coordinator of its Engineering program. He has been involved with several engineering societies and became a member of the Two-year College Division of ASEE in 2002. He is the author/co-author of ten patents, two books, and numerous technical papers. His research interests are in engineering graphics, design, alternative fuels, plastics, and engineering education.
