Dr. Debra Bernstein is a Senior Researcher at TERC. Her research examines curriculum design, implementation, and learning opportunities arising from technology integration in K-12 and informal learning settings. Current work includes the BioRobots project, which uses a design based research framework to study the integration of robotics into interdisciplinary curriculum. Previous evaluation work on the Creative Robotics program explored the implementation supports necessary for middle school teachers to integrate robotics into STEM classrooms. She has also served as a researcher on several electronic community initiatives, including MSPnet and the STEM Videohall. Debra holds an MA in Educational Psychology from Teachers College Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
