I have been teaching science at Timber Creek Regional High School since 2006. Originally specializing in biology, I have made environmental science my priority. After being named a state finalist for the PAEMST, I felt empowered to enroll in a doctoral program. I earned my EdD at Rowan University while researching the potential for environmental justice to enhance student motivation. I have since presented my research at numerous venues, including SENCER, ANJEE, and NARST. I continue to work with other practitioner-researchers to develop best practices that infuse science classes with social justice. I currently teach a course at Rowan University entitled Teaching STEM in Diverse Settings. In my spare time, I like to travel, paddleboard, and create mixed media paintings and metal sculptures.
