
Florence (Flo) Falatko is a STEAM Resource Teacher for grades K-5. Flo obtained a B.A. in Economics at the University of New Hampshire in 1980, her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1990, her Masters in the Art of Teaching in 2003 from Towson University, and her Leadership in Technology Education from Johns Hopkins University in 2008. Flo is a 2016 recipient of the Presidential Award of Excellence in Mathematics and Science. Flo is a Master Teacher of Financial Literacy for the State of MD and the recipient of the MD Financial Capability Award in 2015 and 2020. She is passionate about the need for equity and diversity in our schools. This passion is shown in her classroom and in clubs that she coaches. These clubs include the following: Girls in Finance Club based on a book with a female protagonist in finance, Book Clubs focused on books written by authors of color, Math Clubs taught with STEAM activities, and an annual CVE Alumni Career Day that allows former students to connect with current students.
