
Dr. John Seelke currently serves as in Instructional Specialist for Secondary Mathematics for Montgomery County Public Schools. Over his 20 year career in education, he has served as a classroom teacher, faculty at a Tier-1 University supporting the preparation of secondary mathematics teachers, and worked in the central office of two major counties, District of Columbia Public Schools and Montgomery County Public Schools. Dr. Seelke earned his doctorate in education policy in 2018 from the University of Maryland College Park, where he researched the teacher performance assessment edTPA and its impact on practicing teachers. His interest includes examining the interaction of interconnected policies and programs that lead to the increase of student achievement. For example, districts or states eager to change pedagogical practices may need to consider their process for hiring new teachers.
