Hi, my name is Linda Smith. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Curriculum and Instruction in STEM at Texas Tech University. My research interests include:
- STEM curriculum development
- Improving the School to STEM Pipeline
- Increasing diversity in STEM
- Developing STEM literacy for all
- Building community partnerships
I am also passionate about education policy and have served as an Indiana Teach Plus Policy Fellow. Currently, I am our K-12 school district's STEM specialist. I provide professional development in PBL, STEM pedagogy, PLTW, and developing critical thinkers in this role. In addition to PD, I am also responsible for grant writing that focuses on STEM, literacy and STEM, and teaching the whole child. I am also responsible for curriculum development, evaluation of STEM curriculum, and interventional language arts and math programming. Currently, I serve as a research consultant for an NIH and NSF funded grant with Purdue University.
