Maia Binding has been a Curriculum and Assessment Developer for SEPUP at The Lawrence Hall of Science since 2007. Her published products include Science and Global Issues: Biology, Disruptions in Ecosystems, and multiple middle school science units. Her recent and current projects include the NSF-funded DRK-12 project Moving Next Generation Science Standards into Practice, and a project funded by the Carnegie Foundation to develop curriculum-neutral NGSS assessments for middle school. She is project director for the SF/Bay Area Amgen Biotech Experience center and for multiple projects training educators in Saudi Arabia on teaching hands-on science. Previously, Maia taught high school and worked as a professional development specialist.
