This is my twelfth year to be an educator in Oklahoma. I currently teach 6th-8th grade STEM as an elective at Will Rogers Junior High School in Claremore, Oklahoma. This is my first year in this position. In the past I have taught 6th Grade Science, K-5th STEM lab, and 5th Grade. I am a current member of the Smithsonian's Teacher Innovator Institute and was a 2016 awardee of PAEMST. This year, I was also a Teacher of the Year Finalist for the State of Oklahoma and I'm very active with our state's science organization (OSTA) plus, I serve on the State of Oklahoma Science Standards Writing Team.
