Bio
I am the Coordinator of the Inter-American Teacher Education Network at the Organization of American States. Previously, I served as the K-12 Program Manager at the American Association of Physics Teachers. In this capacity, I managed collaborative grants valued at $8.5M total from NASA, NSF, and private foundations on projects associated with science teacher leadership, computational modeling in physics, and astronomy education research. In my free time, I work with my husband to develop Vieyra Software mobile sensor apps for science education, which support over 1.5 Million students, teachers, and other STEM professionals worldwide.
Previously, I served as an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow placed at NASA's Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate for the 2014-2015 year, and was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching.
As a prior high school physics teacher, I have a wide variety of interests in the high school classroom as well as in working with pre-service and in-service teachers across the nation and internationally.
