Whitney Wall Bortz
Dr. Bortz is a former K – 12 mathematics teacher whose research focuses on STEM education and assessment in both K – 12 and higher education. She holds a Ph.D. in Education from Queen’s University in Belfast. She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Virginia Tech where she works on two NSF-funded projets. Alongside colleagues in computer science, she has investigated the integration of computational thinking into science education. In the Department of Engineering Education she works with a team looking at funding models in STEM graduate programs and related experiences and career outcomes of graduate students.
