Christopher Soldat, Ph.D, is a Science consultant with the Van Allen Science Teacher (VAST) center with Grant Wood Area Education Agency in Iowa. He is a member of the NSF grant- Peer Alliance for Gender Equity (PAGE) STEM. He provides professional development with Engineering is Elementary curriculum for the state of Iowa. He currently is working with the Reflective Assessment for Elementary Science (RAES) with the University of Iowa, and the Lawrence Hall of Science, University of California, Berkeley. He was also a National Board Certified Teacher in Science/Early Adolescence and served on the NBPTS Science Standards committee. In addition, he was a research associate with the University of Iowa Science Education Department for the NSF grant- IMPPACT in a study of pre-service and inservice science teachers. He was a middle school science classroom teacher for twenty-nine years at Mid-Prairie Middle School and was a state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching. Christopher has also served as an educational consultant for Iowa Public Television’s multimedia project EXPLORE MORE. He has been involved with Fulbright Teacher grants through educational exchanges in Japan, Finland and Costa Rica.
