Beyond These Walls: Your Next Move
This journey of a teacher leader is about taking chances and following your passion! A teacher's career is not restricted to the four walls of the classroom. That is where the learning journey begins and expands to a world full of opportunities--IF you take the first step.
The first step can lead to experiences like flying K12 experiments in micro-gravity, translating NASA content for students, designing virtual learning communities and web-based simulations, peering into the origins of our universe, learning from the last surviving German Rocket Scientist at NASA, interacting with the Nobel Laureate who worked on the Manhattan Project, even riding in the Alaskan Iditarod Dog Sled Race and helping design teacher workshops supporting the same.
It sounds trite, but there's really no limit. The secret...YOU have to take the first step! Where does your passion lie?
When I began my career as a middle school sixth and eighth grade science teacher, I would not have imagined these possibilities, but across my career, I experienced all of these things, and it ironically started by hosting an after-school rocket club.
Are you ready? Let's take your next step!

Beyond These Walls: Your Next Move
What a beautiful example of following your passion. Thank you so much for sharing your journey, so far. I always tell my students to be sure to understand their "why", what drives them. In doing so, I have been able to also define my "why" and passion. Your video is truly inspirational!

Love This!
The idea of taking risks with teaching/ learning is great. Too many times in the past you heard I have no time, it’s not in the book.
Allowing people to experiment generates different outcomes.
