This article summarizes the literature on about teacher-leaders and then illustrates it with the story of one teacher-leader, describing her strategies and the conditions in the district that supported her. The paper discusses: What teacher leadership is, why teacher leadership is important, and what we know about the working lives of teacher-leaders.
